Aug. 10th, 2006 01:12 amOh my god.
I'm in love. Not with a boy or with a girl but with a family. My family.
Peter and Elizabeth have created the most amazing family out of the ashes of tragedy. Elizabeth's husband died but she has a girlfriend and they love each other very much. Peter has one adopted daughter, Anna and one child he had with a woman who left him and he loves unconditionally and they just adore him. They have to be the happiest kids I've ever seen.
Peter has this adorable girlfriend who I totally dig. She has a cute little boy too, and his name is Caleb. He kept staring at my stockings. And there's Peter's girlfriend's brother David. He's a uni professor and he's so lovely as are Peter's friends Thomas and Robert.
It's a random and varied family full of all sorts of people. And then there's my family. Sister, mother, father. And there's no comparison. You know they say today that children fare better when they grow up in a home that has two parents, a mother and a father. And I just had it proven that that's not true (not that I ever believed that bullshite anyway). Those kids have to be the luckiest kids on the planet. That house is so full of love, that you can feel it as you walk in the gate. It's incredible. They way they look at each other...they way they talk to each other and touch each other and help each other. Everything and everyone should be like that.
I just got home from having the most amazing night in my life and I never thought I'd say that about having dinner with my family. Just goes to show you that when you accept people, they'll accept you and I've found something there that is more valuble than anything I found at home. Ever.
